Training at a glance
Technical and administrative training: BIKAR will train apprentices in both technical and administrative/organisational roles. The programmes are aligned with the UK apprenticeship system and combine hands‑on work placements with accompanying theoretical training, building targeted expertise locally. Programme durations and content depend on the chosen route and can range from one to several years. Progression options include further qualifications and specialist additional training (e.g. in automation or robotics), as well as the prospect of longer‑term employment with the company. BIKAR supports apprentices through mentoring, practical training stations and the stable environment of a family‑owned business.
“With the launch of the apprenticeship programme in Bristol, we are making a concrete investment in the future of this location and creating opportunities for young people in the area,” says Lee Bridges, General Manager of the Bristol branch and responsible for technical training on site. “We wish the apprentices a successful start and will support them with practical mentoring, targeted work placements and regular training opportunities. This includes close collaboration with our headquarters in Bad Berleburg, Germany.”
Collaboration on the ground
BIKAR is developing the apprenticeship programme in cooperation with local educational partners and institutions. The aim is to train locally qualified professionals, retain them in the long term and strengthen links with the regional labour market.
